Bronx River Parkway photograph album, 1912-1917.

The album contains photographs showing the development of the Bronx River Parkway from 1912-1917. It includes before and after views of land in the Bronx River Parkway Reservation and views of work in progress. The photographs show important sites along the parkway: the New York Botanical Garden, the Bronx Zoo, Williamsbridge, Kensico Lake and Kensico Dam.

Dr. Theodore Kazimiroff (1914-1980), a dentist and amateur archeologist, served as Bronx Historian (1953-1980). He helped found the Bronx County Historical Society in 1955 and was its first president. He was a consultant to the New York Zoological Society, the Museum of the American Indian, and the Museum of Natural History.
